The 16-member dance and vocal group selected through three auditions named "RAMPAGE," is known for their HIPHOP-style performances where they dance wildly on stage. They made their major debut on January 25, 2017, with the single "Lightning."

In December 2017, less than a year after their debut, they held their first hall tour, performing a total of 58 shows in all 47 prefectures, attracting approximately 120,000 attendees. From February 2019, they successfully completed an arena tour, performing a total of 28 shows in 13 cities and attracting approximately 260,000 attendees.In July 2021, they successfully held their first solo Tokyo Dome concert for two days.

In August 2023, they achieved their first number one on the Oricon Weekly Chart with the single "Summer Riot Tropical Night/Everest." On February 14, 2024, they simultaneously released their first best album "16SOUL & 16PRAY." With the release of the single "24karats GOLD GENESIS" on July 24, they also achieved their first number one on the "Billboard JAPAN Hot 100" chart (released on July 31, 2024), as well as topping major Billboard and Oricon rankings, achieving a quadruple crown and surpassing their own best of 350,000 copies. On September 11 and 12, they held their second solo Tokyo Dome concert.

Starting with the arena performance of "THE RAMPAGE LIVE TOUR 2025 'PRIMAL SPIDER'" on March 1, 2025, they have also decided to tour around 15 locations nationwide with "THE RAMPAGE LIVE TOUR 2025 'PRIMAL SPIDER' Spinning Threads," which will be their first hall performances since 2021.
