With the warm spring weather, summer is gradually approaching. SUMMER SONIC third addition to the lineup features eight artists who boast a global presence from Asia to the world in various genres.
GLAY, one of Japan's most well-known rock bands, will perform in Tokyo on Saturday, August 17.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the band's debut, and this will be the first time in the band's history that they will perform at a summer festival. With their live performance as special guests in Sapporo for the QUEEN + ADAM LAMBERT concert in Japan in February this year still fresh in our minds, what kind of scenery will they show us in Makuhari in the middle of summer is a must-see.
Performing on 8/17 (Sat) in Tokyo and 8/18 (Sun) in Osaka will be NCT DREAM, a seven-member group that boasts immense popularity as a derivative unit of NCT, a next-generation global group with an attractive multinational member composition, In addition, NOA, a trilingual solo artist whose multi-talents include collaborating with domestic and international artists, composing music, writing lyrics, and even choreographing dance, has been selected.
On 8/17 (Sat) in Osaka and 8/18 (Sun) in Tokyo, there will be ATEEZ, an 8-member boy group from South Korea whose album released last year made the Billboard charts in the U.S. and whose first appearance at Coachella this year has been announced.
Born out of Japan's largest audition program PRODUCE 101 JAPAN, which caused a social phenomenon in 2019, the group held an Asia tour and a solo dome concert last year.
JO1 is an 11-member global boy group representing Japan, having participated in the Kohaku Uta Gassen for two consecutive years.
Also from PRODUCE 101 JAPAN SEASON 2, they will debut in 2021.
INI won the Rookie of the Year Award at the 63rd Record Awards and performed at Kyocera Dome Osaka in February 2012.
LEE YOUNGJI, a next-generation diva in both name and reality whose unique character and fashion style are very popular in Korea and who has won awards at music awards, will appear in Tokyo on August 17 (Sat) to add to the festivities.
Nulbarich, which has announced that it will be going on hiatus this year, will perform in Tokyo on August 18 (Sun.). Please come and experience the genre-less good melodies created by singer/songwriter JQ and the groovy live show with the band members at SUMMER SONIC before the hiatus.
