Now that summer is finally in full swing, we are pleased to announce the release of the timetable for SUMMER SONIC & SONICMANIA, as well as additional artists.

SONICMANIA, which takes place on Friday 16 August, is Japan's largest all-night festival, transforming three stages at Makuhari Messe into a dance floor. With a combination of luxurious performers from home and abroad in a variety of genres that can only be seen at SONICMANIA, this is a festival for all music "maniacs", whether you want to dance as much as you like to the intense beats or just get lost in the sound and your own world and enjoy it until the morning. This is a festival for all music "maniacs". Everyone is welcome to come out in high spirits. As the opening act of SONICMANIA, four beatboxers who have won the world's largest beatbox competition "Grand Beatbox Battle 2023" in the crew category and have literally won the title of world's best beatboxers. Two more groups with global activities have been added to the line-up, including SARUKANI, a quartet of "beatboxers", and Chameleon Lime Whoopie Pie, who have performed at the world's biggest combined festival, SXSW, for two years in a row.

SUMMER SONIC Tokyo is made up of six stages, each with its own distinct appeal.

The two outdoor stages are the Stadium, where you can feel the sea breeze in the marine area, and the photogenic Beach Stage, where chill memories are created every year. The indoor area of the air-conditioned and comfortable Makuhari Messe has four stages where you can enjoy an extravagant line-up of performers from morning to night, both domestic and international.

Please make good use of the free shuttle buses dedicated to SUMMER SONIC that connect the two areas, and enjoy your ideal timetable while making sure you take care of yourself in the summer heat, including hydration.

In addition, at SUMMER SONIC Osaka, which is now being held at a new venue, you will be able to fully appreciate the open, green location and the otherworldly appeal of the stage that appears there. In addition, visitors to SUMMER SONIC Osaka will be able to enjoy an inside view of the Tower of the Sun, the symbol of the 1970 Osaka Expo, in the Expo Commemorative Park, at the time of the event. As for additional announcements, the 4-piece rock band The BONEZ, whose overwhelmingly emotional live show is sure to enliven the venue, will perform on the PACIFIC Stage at the 17 Aug (Sat) Tokyo show. Two next-generation artists tonun and Conton Candy, who are strongly supported by the younger generation, have also been confirmed as the opening acts for the Osaka show.

And here's the big news! On Saturday 17 August, Gen Hoshino will curate the entire late-night SONIC STAGE at Midnight Sonic in Tokyo, as he did last year! Under the title of "so sad so happy Midnight" Curated by Gen Hoshino, a star-studded line-up of performers will gather in Makuhari at midnight.

An undisputed leading figure in contemporary jazz, Gen Hoshino is a multiple Grammy award-winning performer with a style that has made diverse genres such as gospel, hip-hop and R&B his own, while delivering a consistent cultural message. ROBERT GLASPER, one of the world's finest musicians in both name and reality, will be joined by YEBBA, a remarkable singer whose voice has been praised by many artists, in the special unit ROBERT GLASPER WITH SPECIAL GUEST YEBBA.

In addition, TUCKER, who has been active since the 90s with his unique improvised music on the electone and continues to perform as a guest keyboardist for various musicians, and TUCKER, the most important producer who seems to mend and reconstruct the space between jazz and hip-hop with his rich background and solid sense of style, and TERRACE MARTIN, a multi-instrumentalist and singer; Answer to Remember, a project spun by drummer Shun Ishiwaka, a unique presence in the Japanese popular music scene at present, and musicians of the same generation; DJ JIN (RHYMESTER), who has supported the DJ scene from the early days of HIPHOP to the present day, and nagaokaryosuke, who sings and plays guitar for the Petrols, will participate as DJ, as well as producing work and providing music. Gen Hoshino will perform in a rare DJ style. The timetable for MIDNIGHT SONIC will be announced at a later date.

Admission to Midnight Sonic is valid for all SUMMER SONIC Tokyo tickets. Tickets for the MIDNIGHT SONIC will also be on sale from 10:00am on Saturday 13 July. The timetable for the MIDNIGHT SONIC and ticket details will be announced at a later date.

Also, good news for those who regrettably couldn't get tickets! A small number of tickets will be available for resale at the Tokyo venue only. The tickets will be re-sold as 1DAY tickets and platinum tickets for each day of the event. (There are no plans to re-sell the SOLD OUT Osaka show).

Furthermore, if you have seen the timetable and want to get to the stage area as soon as possible, please consider purchasing a 'morning first numbered ticket', which will be introduced from this year. We have also decided to resell the Picnic Boxes, which allow you to enjoy the Marine Stadium in a relaxed atmosphere. (Both the first morning numbered ticket and the picnic box require a separate admission ticket)
